We are involved with innovative research in the areas of theoretical and computational electromagnetics (including primarily the method of moments and finite-difference time-domain techniques), antenna analysis and design, phased array antenna systems, electronic packaging analysis, electromagnetic wave interaction with complex materials, the development of novel metamaterials for advanced antenna applications, fractal and knot electrodynamics, neural networks, genetic algorithms and particle swarm optimization in electromagnetics. The lab is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in the development of miniature, conformal, multi-band and ultra-wideband antenna element/array designs based on the use of fractals and genetic algorithms.
